KABADDI
The much-awaited Kabaddi event at the Sheru Classic World Sports Festival is scheduled for September 15-16, 2023, and it’s going to be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. This thrilling event will see international teams from different continents vying for victory and a chance to claim exciting prizes.
The game of Kabaddi involves two teams, each composed of 12 players, divided into 6 raiders and 6 stoppers. During the match, only 4 stoppers are allowed to play at a time, while the other 2 act as substitutes. Substitutions can be made throughout the game, except during an active raid by the opposing team.
The objective of the game is simple yet challenging for the raiders. They must venture into the opposing team’s half of the ground, touch one of the 4 active stoppers, and swiftly return to their own side within a tight 30-second timeframe. The excitement lies in the stoppers’ ability to defend against the raider’s attempt while the other stoppers observe from the sidelines.
A successful raid, where the raider touches a stopper and safely returns within the time limit, earns the raider’s team a point. On the other hand, if the raider fails to touch an active stopper or is halted by the touched stopper, the stopper’s team gains a point.
To ensure a decisive outcome, the first point is counted as 1.5 points, with subsequent points being worth 1 point each. The matches consist of two halves, each lasting 20 minutes, with a 5-minute halftime break. At the end of the intense gameplay, the team with the highest number of points will emerge as the victorious one.
Athletes are invited to witness the captivating and action-packed sport of Kabaddi at the Sheru Classic World Sports Festival, where athletes from around the globe will showcase their skills and passion for this remarkable game.
